Love this. Where does this put us (you, me) who (at least) geographically have moved across that plot?

(Obviously the first like had to come from someone from Argentina).

You and Silvia have always treated me with deep kindness and friendship, but we also met in Colorado and during a time of stress when I joined a startup. So I would say Denmark at first, but full Argentina if we were to restart.

Also felt that way with Santiago.

Came here to give the next like!

But truly, having close family that moved to other countries (Ireland, England, Spain, Canada, and others), even though Argentina has many flaws, and even though they are happy where they are now, they mostly agree that developing deep, long-lasting friendships is "much harder" (at least by argentinian standards), for the same reasons.

And I've heard the opposite from people that move to Argentina (from Venezuela, Peru, or even people that relocate from the provinces to the capital), who sometimes come alone, or due to unwanted cirumstances, and find it's fairly easy to meet people and build a strong bond in a short period of time.

Yeah I remember what you told me of your community and it closely matched stories I’ve heard from Italy and Mexico… but one of my Mexican friends moved to Sweden and suffered greatly because it’s a much more reserved culture. Looking forward to visiting someday!

I moved to Punta del Este and I assumed people were so open because it’s a small town where everyone knows each other, and asado culture. I haven’t spent much time in Buenos Aires but assumed it was closer to New York, at least from how Uruguayans talk about Porteños.

I’m interested to hear how those open and deep connections form in Argentina (assuming you are in Buenos Aires). In punta del este, you rarely meet someone you don’t already have at least a few mutual friends with so trust and networks can form quickly.
